Christmas

Merry Christmas

It is great to have a couple of minutes to update everyone and reflect on what has been going on with our family for the last year.  We are in excited about this time of year.  I love getting out all my Christmas decorations.  Many emotions surface as I remember past Christmases in San Angelo.  I hung my advent garland and remembered the sweet time I had making it with some very special friends.  We put up the tree, and remember the first Christmas John and I had together as a married couple.  We have been blessed more than we deserve.

The past 6 months have been a season of change and new friendships.  We are excited to be apart of a wonderful church family at FBC Justin.  The worship is contemporary and the word of God is fresh every week.  The church is friendly and sincere.  We have been blessed to be apart of a couples Sunday School class and have made good friends quickly.  I was able to attend "Apples of Gold," a Titus study, for 6 weeks.  I met many women old and young that love the Lord and are eager to encourage others.

I am busy at home being a "Professional Homemaker!"  I looked for a prn job here and had many opportunities but realized that God wanted me to be at home full time.  It has been a hard transition, leaving the work I love so much.  I know that it is God's will for now.

John is busy!  He is taking classes and joined a research group in September.  He is working well with his team and learning "the ropes."  I think he has made an "A" on every test he has taken.  It amazes me how smart he is.  He is balancing school, research group, family, and LIFE!  He is an inspiration to me!

Ethan is such a blessing.  He is a servant and learning how to help others in need.  He lost his first tooth in November.  He was so excited and I wanted to cry!  It means he is growing up.  He is doing wonderful in his homeschooling.  We are teaching Abeka Phonics/Reading, Math U See, Handwriting without Tears, Science, and Bible.  He is reading like a champ and I still am in awe at how fast he picked it up.  He loves his math and has completed the first book.   We have been using our Awana book for scripture memory and he can get them memorized usually before I can.  I allow him to move at his own pace and it has worked well.

Andrew.... Oh my little man.... He is full of energy and wants to climb on anything and everything!  He still has his curls and that sweet smile.  He talks all the time and repeats everything you say.  He loves playing at the park and playing Hide-n-Seek with Ethan.  He loves "Go Dog Go," and "Barnyard Dance."  He melts our hearts and keeps us on our toes!

I pray that you and yours have a wonderful Christmas!

Love,

John, Heather, Ethan and Andrew Beatty

First Hair cut & 16 months

Yes Andrew is 16months!! Wow my little man has grown so fast.  He is talking like crazy and repeats almost everything we say.  He loves his books and we read off and on all day.  He especially likes his Fisher Price animal board books.  We were so excited to have Tiffanie, Jon, Sydney, Haleigh, Thyme, and Cole come stay the night with us. I just could not bare the thought of getting his hair cut by anyone else but Tiff so we held off until she was here.

She always makes it so much fun and he sat there the whole time.  We kept the curls in the back because they melt my heart !!

Hawiian Falls

We took the "plunge" and spent the day at Hawaiian Falls in Roanoke ( just about 10 mins from our house).  It is a water park that is a couple of years old.  I really was impressed because they had scripture posted everywhere and played christian music all day.  We also got in for $8.88/person.  What a blessing.  We did splurge and rented a cabana for the day.  It was a great way to have our own little private area to rest and eat a picnic lunch.

It amazed me how brave Ethan was.  He was tall enough to ride almost every ride and we got to go down a few together. He had no fear!!

Andrew wasn't to sure of the dumping water bucket but enjoyed everything else.   Thank God for time that we get to have together just chillin' as a family.  We had a blast!

Rainbow

This was our view right when we got up yesterday.  It was wonderful!  It reminds me of God's promise to us and to me.  I was in my PJ's so I asked Ethan to go out front and take a picture.  You never know what you are going to get, but he did an awesome job!!

We hung pictures on the wall and it is starting to feel like home.  I realized in the "middle" of living life I have neglected taking pictures.  So here are some random pictures that reminds me about what family is all about.

The boys are growing fast and Ethan is anxious to start school.  I have all of his books and we have looked through them together.  Andrew... well... he is busy!  He is either talking or making noise all the time.  It cracks me up but I love it.  He is very vocal about what he wants.

I think John is preparing himself to be a student again.  Neither one of us knows what to expect this first semester. So we will just take it day by day.

I have applied at a couple of hospitals and trying to decide what is going to work best for the family.  So we will see on that.

So that is all for now.  We just miss our friends dearly and anxious to get plugged in!

Our New Home!!

Our New Home!
We are now in our new home.  We are so excited because we were able to pay cash!!! Yay! So we are totally completely debt free!!!  We are enjoying it so much.

Living Room along with the fireplace!!  We were able to replace the carpet in the whole house and it really spruced it up.
I love this picture because I got the boys in doing their thing.  This is looking toward the kitchen from the living room.

Dining area.  I was able to get our big nice dining table in here.
Ethan in the kitchen. Small but cozy!  We laugh because it is all the same appliances that used to be in my sisters house. :)
 Boys bathroom.
Boys room!! Oh yeah, not lime green but pretty close to it.  Looks really good with their bedding.
John's office and our homeschool/craft room.  We painted it a cool gray/silver color. We love it!
Master Bedroom. Just perfect size and it has a nice master closet.
 Master Bathroom.

Outside!  The boys love this area.  Nice rock on the side of the porch.

We miss our old home, but making many memories in our new home.  I will try to post updated pictures when I hang some things on the wall.
