Who would have ever thought it would be 70's on Sunday and Snowing on Tuesday! Who would have ever thought we would have snow twice this winter? Ethan was so excited to wake up to snow. John bundled him up and they built a snowman! He also thought it was so cool he could ride his 4 wheeler in the snow. How fun!
The Lord your God... will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Teaching our Children and other stuff...
I have been blessed to be apart of a book study, "Teaching them Diligently." I have been convicted about how I need to teach Ethan about Christ and the bible. We are learning techniques to help us to memorize scripture and how to apply it in everyday life.
Ethan got a devotional book from Amanda at Christmas, and I bought him a "beginners" bible for Valentines Day. We have been getting up and doing a devotion together after breakfast. I figured that was better use of our time then allowing him to watch another episode of "Handy Mandy." They are really short and to the point which makes it perfect for his age.
You don't think that children at his age grasp a whole lot, but he has really caught on. I went into his room the other morning to get him up and said "Rise and Shine, give God the Glory" (my mom used to do that to us) and he said "mom sing!" So I belted out the song! It was funny that he remember there was a song that went with it because I have only sung it a handful of times. He also told me the other day that "God made Strawberries", which gave me the perfect opportunity to talk about how god also made him and the animals, etc.
Keep talking about Christ and his love for us.................they are listening!

Valentines
Valentines Day came early for me. I found me a iPod Nano online and was going to save my money to buy one. Well.... John came home with a cute little gift and made Ethan bring it to me and say "Happy Valentines Day Momma." We usually don't make a big deal of Valentines, but he really surprised me. I feel so special. No excuse for not working out now!!

Cooking
Today I got up and decided to do some cooking. I have read blogs about doing a Freezer Cooking Day and Pantry Clean out meals. The Freezer Cooking day is where you cook a lot of meals on one day and freeze them for later. The Pantry Clean out is when you survey your pantry and really try to use up anything in there before you buy more. It helps reduce grocery bills! I quickly looked through the freezer and pantry. These are the meals I tackled today.
1. Put beans in Crockpot for dinner
2. Cooked King Ranch Chicken Cassarole and put in freezer for later.
3. Baked Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread and froze half for later.
4. Made 4 dozen Homemade Cinnamon Rolls and put in freezer for future events.
Now that I write it down it doesn't seem like a lot but I got it accomplished in 3 hours and that was even with some help from Ethan. Let me know if you have other recipes that are good to make ahead and freeze.
