Burned?

I was cooking lunch today and Ethan reached up to touch the stove.  I said "It is Hot, it will Burn, Don't Touch."  He then pulled away.  After talking this through about 4 times, he reached up and touched the pan before I could catch him.  He burned his middle finger.  We rushed and put it under cold water.  He then seemed fine, so I let him play.  An hour later he starts crying and showed me his finger, it looked like a little blister was forming.  I snuggled up with him in the chair, and after crying 30 minutes, I started praying in a soft voice that Jesus would calm him and take the pain away.  I was also crying by this time, hurt that he was in pain.  Less than 2 minutes of praying he was asleep in my arms, calm!

How many times does the Lord tell me in a situation that "its Hot, it will Burn, Don't Touch." Despite all his warnings I decide to do what I want and get burned!  A lot of times I may not feel the pain initially, but as I realize every decision I make effects someone, the pain sets in.  I plead with God to fix it and take the pain away.  Many times he is holding me,  calming me with his love, and hoping that I will trust his guidance next time.

Some Quiet Time

Amanda, Coley, Paige, and Landri were here for a couple of days last week.  We tried to cram in as much as we possibly could while we were together.  The girls and Ethan have a blast together.  They almost act like brothers and sisters.

Amanda begged me to allow her to take Ethan with them, so I agreed.  It was such a blessing to have a little down time.  I slept in some, went to a couple of Dr apppointments, had lunch with a friend, and a date with my husband!!  Yes, John and I got to have dinner and a movie.  We both really enjoyed the time together. Ethan had so much fun, I don't think he missed us a bit.
What a blessing our family is to us!

Our Blog

Hey Friends and Family!

I have finally started a blog due to some encouragement from Amanda.  I am learning how this all works!  I will add a updated picture of all three of us when I get one done.

God Bless
